TMNT 2012: A Little Disney Talk

Well, this just happened haha. I love Disney. I love TMNT. BOOM. I’m not sorry.
But…
Apparently the fandom has almost completely torn itself in half thanks to the upcoming ships with April.
Will Donnie win April? Will Casey?? From what I’m seeing, some people are really mean when it comes to this…
…Does it really have to be that way?

It’s just an opinion, but guys, this fandom needs to chill out. April was not created to be a love interest. No character should be created for just that reason. It’s not right. She is her own character, with her own development arc and story. And the writers are making Donnie and Casey fall in love with that, not with a pretty face for the mere sake of a love triangle. I’d like to think that April has more potential than that.

And so, while contemplating this, yes, the speech by Jasmine popped into my head, and to me, it does work with April’s case as well.

Yes, I’m a shipper (I honestly think we all are, secretly or not). Yes, I know love triangles hype up the drama for stories. And that’s fine. But I just don’t like seeing people being put down because of whom they ship. Let them ship it, people! The sea is big enough for all ships, okay?
